Bespoke creativity

As well as enjoying a lot of crocheting, I also have a lot of fun making things from fabric. As you have probably seen from my numerous posts and on my website, I make a lot of products from coffee bean sacks but now and again a commission comes along which gives me a new challenge and ticks the bespoke box!

This was the case when I was asked by an Edinburgh graphic designer to create a tool roll for his ‘special’ pens. The added twist to this was that he had recently got back from Japan and wanted me to use fabric he had purchased whilst out there……challenge accepted!

Since Wildfish Crafts first began there have been a few bespoke products that I have been asked to make, some functional like the two white baskets that were for little hand towels in a bathroom, some sentimental like the Venus of Wilendorf and all of them have been challenging and a pleasure to create.



Deep down, I think everyone has a spark of creativity, whether it is a spark for an idea or the vision and skills to execute those ideas. Whichever you may have, give creativity a whirl, it’ll definitely reap rewards.
